"My daddy got arrested...Yeah, they tased him." -one of my students. My response to this was. "Well, why did he get arrested?" He then countered, matter of factly, with, "He was smokin'." Haha Got to love Kindergarteners.
It's amazing how obsessed they can be with what comes out of my lunch box. Yesterday, one of my darlings proceeded to ask me how many calories were in my healthy choice steamer.
It is also amazing how happy a few garden snails can make 22 five year olds. I introduced our class visitors this morning, and I thought that my students were going to wet their pants. It was great. Surprisingly, they wouldn't touch them. At the end of the day, I took the students that had not had their cars moved outside to have popsicles and help me release the snails out into the wild. It was a pretty awesome day.
So, it is the beginning of a new week, and once again I am emmersed in lesson plans. Oh the joys of student teaching. There is one thing, however, that I am very excited about. I talked to my Mamaw today, and she explained to me that my aunt knows a woman that is really good friends with the principal at the school where I would really like to work in the fall. She is supposed to put in a good word for me. This makes me smile. Toodles.
