Just Grow Up
Tomorrow marks the beginning of my big girl job. It's my first day, and I'm super nervous. No, I didn't get the position as a Kindergarten teacher in Winona. I am very pleased, however, with where I have been placed. I will be teaching 2nd grade at Threadgill Elementary in Greenwood. I'm so pumped about this job I can hardly stand it! So far, I have not met anyone unfriendly, and everyone that I have spoken to has been so nice. It seems like a great school district, and everyone cares about the number one priority...the students. I will be working with a brand new principal and assisstant principal as well as several other first year teachers, so we will all be learning the ropes together. Also, I will be getting paid over 4,000 dollars more per year than I first expected. Woo hoo! You can't beat that! haha 1,200 of those dollars, I will be receiving just because I will be working in Greenwood school district. I'm so completely overwhelmed and excited that I don't know what to do with myself. I have EVERYTHING that I need thanks to my Mom and Dad, my neighbor, Mrs. Myra, and the sweetest school teacher ever, Mrs. O'Bryan. She recently retired after teaching 2nd and 3rd grade for over 25 years, and guess who she passed down EVERYTHING to...ME! I have absolutely everything that I could ask for when it comes to decorating my room, curriculum, worksheets, books, everything. God is truely amazing for placing her into my life and placing me in Greenwood. I could not ask for more!
